My short review of the latest Texas cacti book.
This is a new book just published by Texas A&M Press and written by Brian and Shirley Loflin. I recently bought a copy from them at our annual TACSS Seminar.
For all you native Texas cacti folks, it's a really nice book if you are looking for quality pictures of cacti but in my opinion, it is not nearly as comprehensive as the previous new book 'Cacti of Texas' by Powell and Weedin. Also, they have chosen to use a different classification for some of the plants. Re the Opuntias for example, they use sub classifications like Corynopuntia and Cylindropuntia etc.
