Daiv Need Your Help!!

Post by *Barracuda_52* »

 Ok didnt know where to put this or just PM you or what but if you or anyone else knows how to fix this please please help me..

I finaly got my new comp with Vista Home Premium and everything is working great, but when i get to your site all the words are sooooooooooooooo small i can barley make them out, is there a setting on here to make the words bigger on the forums? We have gone thru everything on the new comp and nothing seems to help make the forums words larger, i did however make the words larger on other sites and everything, just your site has super TINY words.

Thanks for the help...

Web browsers should display the forum text at 12 point fixed. If your browser displays it smaller then it must allow you to increase the size too.

Did you try going to "View" -> "Text Size" and see if you can enlarge it there?

Well it should work for you. I'll have to do some searching. I would guess it has something to do with the style sheet settings for the forum template that I used.

Daiv, she's right -- it's something to do with your site. I have IE7, and I tried changing the text size on this site and a couple of others. CactiGuide stayed at the same text size no matter how I adjusted my browser.

Cuda, I noticed that this happened on at least one other site as well as this one, so I found a work-around for you. Try going to Page (in the upper right-hand corner of the browser), select Zoom from the drop down menu, and then adjust the percentage until you can read the text.

Hope this helps.

Works fine in Firefox. I thought everyone on this site was using Firefox :)

IE text sizes work slightly differently. There are five available text sizes, but they will not override text sizes explicitly set by a web site. If you try to change the text size on CactiGuide, you may see the pages shuffle slightly as minor white space is resized, but the text will remain at 12pt as specified explicitly.

You can use zoom to change the size of everything on a page.

You can also override the web site settings. This is in the Internet Options, under Accessibility. Check "Ignore font sizes specified on webpages" and then you will be able to change the text size.

Did you try using the zoom? When I do that, the smilies get big too, if a little pixelated.

Daiv, we need a "drunk" smilie -- a great pun just went down the drain.

I know. More smilies would be good. I keep meaning to install more, but then I think about the time and start another genus description or upload some more pics or articles - the smilies always end up taking a rain check. :(
