Hello Frank,
I have never heard of Astrophytum capricorne cv Daiou cultivar, nor I can find any information on the internet. Do you perhaps have a picture of an adult plant?
Greetings,
Nino

I do not have the cactus and so I do not have a picture.
My friend told me "Daiou" but I found the correct name is "Taiho".
I think you can see some photos of "Astrophytum capricorne Taiho" by Google search.

Hello Frank,
Indeed, I found it under "Taiho". Full name appears to be Astrophytum capricorne var. crassispinum cv. Taiho-gyoku or "Buffalo spine" (Suigyu Taiho-Gyoku). Basically crassispinum with thicker spines resembling buffalo horns.
Thank you and best regards,
Nino

Since seedlings were too small, it was hard to handle but I could graft two seedlings of Ariocarpus trigonus v confusus.
The photo is one of them.
