Growth Habits: Small clumping plant with a covering of fine white spines 3 cm (1 1\4") wide, 4 cm (1 1\2") tall.

Scientific name; Rebutia muscula

Common names: Little Mouse Orange Snowball.

Synonym: Rebutia permutata, Rebutia wessneriana var. permutata, Cylindrorebutia nicolai, Aylostera muscula, Rebutia nicolaii

Etymology:Rebutia Named after the French nurseryman Pierre Rebut.
The species name "muscula" meaning mouse like refering to the fine fur like coating of spines.

Origin: Narvaez, Tarija, Bolivia.

Light: Full sun to light shade.

Compost. A free draining standard cactus mix.

Water: Regular water in spring to autumn.

Flower: The normal flower colour is orange but there is also a peach coloured "sport" known as "aprica" in cultivation.

Min temp: Hardy to 20°F (-7°C), for short periods.

Cultivation: Easy to grow and remains quite a small plant.

Comments: A good plant for beginners as it is not very demanding and takes up little room. If allowed to go below 45°F (7°C) in winter and kept dry it should flower in spring to early summer.in the "sport"flowers change from pale orange to peach colour as they age.
