The grafting process of 6 scions grafted on 11th in this month was completed in this morning. Scions are Ariocarpus retusus v furfuraceus cv Suguri cauliflower.
Seedling grafting in this season has been finished. I will graft some off-sets which growing speed is very slow.

The photo is grafted cauliflowers.

Will you degraft it later or it will continiue its life on another stock?
As i know rooting Aztekium is not easy.

G'morning Fatich,
Will you degraft it later or it will continiue its life on another stock?
As i know rooting Aztekium is not easy.
Rooting of aztekium ritteri is not easy and valdezii may be same but I rooted 7 aztekium hintonii.
Since Aztekium need long time to root, a certain body size is necessary which is more than 3 cm in diameter.
If the body was less than 3 cm, the body is dried up before developping roots.
Hintonii gows relatively large size and can reach 3 cm in diameter easily. I rooted hintonii which were more than 3 cm in diameter.

I have never gotten any successful results of ritteri rooting. Even if it was grafted, a ritteri is hard to reach to 3 cm in diametsr.
I use Pereskiopsis as grafting stock which is not parmanent stock. I normally degraft scion 2 yeras after the grafting.

I will degraft ritteri scion with a short stock and will wait until the scion reaches to 3 cm in diameter before the normal rooting.

A scion, Ariocarpus fissuratus cv godzilla has pushed flowering buds up. I grafted a young seedling on 28th November 2022.
We have one more month in autumn but I am not sure it could open flowers or not because flowering buds come out from an abnormal location.

Wow! That is an odd place for the buds, maybe it will develope another head there?

A scion, ariocarpus retusus v furfuraceus cv Suguri cauliflower has turned to a multi-headed form. I can keep this scion if the scion could show the character of cauliflower.

June is winter in here. I cut-back Pereskiopsis stocks. I will use new off-shoots as grafting stocks in spring.

Updated photos of scions
Photos were taken in this morning. I water through in this winter as a trial.
Both scions are Ariocarpus fissuratus cv godzilla, around 5 cm in diameter.
