Denmoza rhodacantha rot

Post by Lefty »

Had one that got to a good size (over 10 cm) which I repotted. Sadly rot set in before I noticed. Cut away the bad parts and left with perhaps the top third. Can this species be saved through a cutting - or more likely just keep rotting?

If you completely cut away all rotted tissue, there is no reason the rot should continue. Whether it'll root or not is another issue, but there's only one way to find out! Let the wound callous and pot it up. Provide spring or summer-like conditions and hope for the best. :)

Thanks. I mention it because I tried to save a melo or something as soft but no luck. The cut looks like it's drying so fingers crossed.
