The grafting gives early flowering and many flowers. As the result, I can harvest many seeds earlier.
The photo is Ariocarpus fissuratus cv Godzilla.
2~3 days after flower opening, stigma opens and pollen turns to powdally when is the best timing of the pollination.

G'morning Kaktus.idn,
when it grafted on to peres, when usually they will flowering after grafted ?
It depends upon the type of species. E.g. Astrophytum are in flower in spring and Ariocarpus are in flower in autumn.
I sow cactus seeds in early spring, in July in here.
I graft seedlings in spring, in September and October in here.

Since Astrophytum are in flower in spring, they are in flower next spring which means graft to flower is 1 year.
Ariocarpus are in flower in autumn. Graft to flower is less than 1 year, 7~9 months.
where do you place it ? Is it in more shade place or normal shade place
I keep them in shady place in the green house.
Greenhouse is covered over 50% shade cloth. White shade cloth is used for normal area and green one is used for grafted cacti area.

No I do not. Since Opuntia is a pest plant in here, we can not keep them.

Good Morning Frank,

I love your plants and hope to carry on your methods.
I have a question about your grafting process.

1.) You have 2 boxes, Box A and Box B are both shaded with 50% green shade cloth correct? Also, your greenhouse is also shaded with 50% shade cloth, therefore the light in Box A and Box B is very low. Is this correct?
2.) When plants are grafted and you remove them from Box B, do you need to maintain the same level of humidity in your greenhouse as in the box? (I've read most of your posts so I understand the 'steaming' method for seedlings.) Have you found that it isn't necessary when the scion is grafted?

Thanks,
J

G'morning J,
You have 2 boxes, Box A and Box B are both shaded with 50% green shade cloth correct?
Yes it is correct.
your greenhouse is also shaded with 50% shade cloth, therefore the light in Box A and Box B is very low. Is this correct?
Yes the greenhouse has 50% shade cloth inside of room permanently.
A simple Luminous flux indicator is attached on one of posts for greenhous. The indicator shows 2000 lumen on a sunshine day. According to the manual of indicator, 2000 lumen is under full-sun. This means inside of my greenhouse is similar to full-sun even if it has 50% shade cloth.
therefore the light in Box A and Box B is very low. Is this correct?
Inside of Box A and Box B is 500-1000 lumen, depends upon weather.
When plants are grafted and you remove them from Box B, do you need to maintain the same level of humidity in your greenhouse as in the box? (I've read most of your posts so I understand the 'steaming' method for seedlings.) Have you found that it isn't necessary when the scion is grafted?
Once the scion was grafted, you have to concentrate the growing of the stock, not scion.
Any conditions have to meet with the growing of stock. You do not need similar humidity like grafting box but you need frequent watering when the stock was pereskiopsis.

The grafting process of two Ariocarpus retusus v furfraceus cv Suguri cauliflower seedlings was completed in this morning.
They were repotted into 90 mm square pots.
I have accumulated 12 scions plus one extra of this species. I need 12 more.

The photo is 12 grafted scions.
