Cactuses sleeping during summer

Post by yukomkom »

Hello guys I have question regarding summer sleepers. I have 2 Lobivia species who are slipping 2 months already after a week of extreme heat which hit Ukraine at the beginning of summer. I recall I saw some video on watering cacti and there was an information that one should be careful about watering sleeping cacti. So my question is some special treatment needed for them, should I water them less? Maybe there is a way to somehow quickly wake them up? Should I remove them from their regular place to somewhere cooler?

When nighttime temperatures are too warm, many cacti will go dormant, and you shouldn't water them then. They should wake up when the temperatures drop below about 20c at night, though. How hot is it now?

Night time slightly below 20 C. But they are in a balcony, windows are opened however I don't believe that it drops under 20 C.
