Three more I just got. I think I'm almost there.

1 Gymnocalycium baldianum
2. Matucana madisoniorum
3. Mamm. Zeilmanniana or possibly spinosissima?

First one could be G. baldianum, flowers will confirm. I agree with the second. The third one is M. spinosissima.

Third one looks like zeilmanniana to me, not enough spines to be spinosissima ;-)

I disagree, M.zeilmannia has hooked central spines. The reason this one isn't as spiny probably because it hasn't been growing in enough sunlight.

I agree with this. It should get plenty of light from now on and hopefully fill out a little!
Thanks for all the replies.

I see what you mean, more sunlight and better soil should bring out the true spines

I'll wait for it to finish flowering before repotting.

Thanks for the corrections, Anttisepp. I was wondering about M ernestii, had it as a possible but spinosissima seemed more likely as it was grown by our Dutch friends! Photos on web showing G quehlianum certainly look a better match.
