Been away for that last week+, and only managed to miss one first-ever flower (Corynopuntia schottii)...there's always next year I suppose... 8-[

However, didn't miss my reliable Echinocereus luteus. For some reason, this year the growing point was apparently damaged (no colder than some previous years this plant came through without a scratch) this winter, so started pupping at the top. Looks strange, but didn't impact the ability of the plant to flower! Yeah!

One of my favorite of the Cleistos gave me my first flowers last night (started opening during the day, but not completely open until the evening) - the green-flowered Cleistocactus micropetalus.

Today my reliable Mammillaria lenta bloomed for the first time this year. It usually blooms in two spurts - early summer and fall. Hard to catch this plant in the sun, so not the greatest picture... :?

First blooms from my Stenocereus alamosensis opened today. Originally had 6 buds, but only two didn't abort.

Not much has been happening flower-wise in my garden the past couple of weeks except for continuing Cleistocactus blooms (another great reason to love them!), but today a nice one decided to open before I left the country for a month!

This one is one of Mark Dimmett's hybrids called Echinopsis 'Apricot Glow'.
