I need help identifying this cactus.

Post by mikethatremains330 »

hey y'all, I acquired this cactus recently, and received no information on it. I would like to have it identified so I can research where it comes from and what care to give it. I thought its genus was melocactus, but i'm not sure, and I would like to know the species if possible. It's obviously globose, and it hasn't flowered yet so I don't know the color of that.
one of the pictures i took is next to my hand so you can get an idea of the size.
Thanks to anyone that tries Image

I agree with Tony. I thought it was a fero at first, but the spines seem similar to a M. azureus.
Here's to you, all you insidious creatures of green..er I mean cacti.
