Hi,
My name is Paul and I live in Melbourne Australia. I've been browsing these forums for a few days and finally decided that I should join and share some of my experiences - all of which are good so far, as I haven't killed any of my plants
It's night at the moment but i'll upload pics tomorrow when I get the chance. I have 8 plants so far, most of which are from the Argintinian region.
I can't remember the scientific names, but I've ammased:
1x Echinocactus grusonii
3x Trichocereus Pasacana
1x Orepcereus celsienus
1x Oreocereus trollii
1x Nonocactus ottonis (It's flowing in winter!!)
1x Mammillaria hahniana (Old lady cactus)
It's winter at the moment so i've placed the smaller cacti on my north facing window ledge so they are exposed to the sun. The larger (20cm)Trichocereus Pasacana's are at the inlaws in a small green house.
Anyway i've babbled on enough!! I'll line them all up and throw some pics up tomorrow.
It looks like a really friendly forum here and I look forward to posting more!!
Regards,
Paul M.

Hello from Melbourne (Pics soon!!)
So I bought another cactus today.... don't tell the missus!!
Hey Paul,
We've got a number of other Australians here too. This helps for specific questions - especially finding local materials for potting and such.
Anyway, that looks like a good start. If we do things, right, we'll be sure to talk you into getting a bunch more!

PS. It would be a good idea to add "Melbourne Australia" so your questions get answered with more exact conditions in mind. You definitely will treat your plants different in July than I would for example.
