Re: Seed swap

Sorry, I am out of a few species. Out of stock of Bowiea volubilis (but will have more again in a few weeks time), Lithops, and Gymnocalycium spegazzinii. And low on stock of Astrophytum myriostigma var. nudum. I know have the following left: - Anacampseros arachnoides - Astrophytum myriostigma - As...

Re: Euphorbia Seeds?

Anyone know a good place for Euphorbia seeds? I can't find a decent selection anywhere. I saw some mystery mixes off ebay but you get 10 seeds for 5$ + 10$ shipping and that seems kind of lame. What kind of Euphorbia seeds are you after? Any kind, or something specific? E. obesa and E. meloformis s...

Re: conophytum, or how to wake up sleeping beauty?

I can understand the anxiousness. I am still waiting for a lot of 2012 sown mesemb seedlings that just don't seem to wake up. For Monilaria I see lot's of dead looking little sticks (although just one here and there shows light green new growth for a while now, but 95% does not), and for many sphaer...

Nice, that Tanquana hilmarii. I somehow just can't get it to stay uncracked each season. This one is even worse than Argyroderma. The leaves on yours are still fine.

Re: decapitated lophophora diffusa

Ok. Should I cover it so its in the shade or let it have light? Light is okay, just as long as it is not strong sun light. i don't know where you live. But if you live in Europe, you don't need to be afraid of too strong sun light for the next six months. But then again, you might live in the tropi...

Re: decapitated lophophora diffusa

10 years!!! Back the the airing cupboard it is then thats the most stable warm area in my house. Maybe cold / coolness is better. That way the plant will not dehydrate as fast. Warmth might boost it developing roots, but I don't think the plant will do much with the roots anymore before spring. So ...

Re: What's happening with the leaves?

It's not uncommon for a lot of succulents to loose their leaves. Mostly the older ones, the lowest ones on the trunk. I would guess this is the case here, too. Unless you have had this plant for many years and you have never seen leaves turn brown before...?

Re: My new seeds are here!

so I still have to wait one more day before I can put the little ones in the soil. Do you use artificial light to grow your seedlings? If not, you might want to wait a bit longer, until spring, to sow them. I am sure the winter of Norway does not provide the best of light conditions for your seedli...

Re: Seed swap

This summer and spring I have collected seeds of some species again. All freshly harvested from my own plants from spring 2013 onwards. All seeds on offer are free, unless where it states 'swapping only'. The free seeds are available for the cost of just one (international) stamp, reimbursement of p...

This is a Kalanchoe, that's for sure. Don't know the exact species, though.

Re: decapitated lophophora diffusa

Well its been sat in the dark for weeks now and still no roots. It seems to be alive and there is no rot. Will it go dormant like the others and then root in spring or should I abandon hope? Be patient. Sometimes these sort of things just take time. I once waited for ten years for a Ferocactus to r...

No. I don't like grafted plants. I always feel like it is cheating...
I lost one of the three little plants. But the others are still doing fine. Hardly grown, though. Still as little after a few years.

Actually, I think it is very common... At least in Europe. If you'd live closer by, you could have had one of mine.

Re: Mailing Packages

In other words, it has to fit through their little quarter inch slot checker. As long as it does, it's good to go. Yes. But... also keep mind of the weight. For me sending an envelope around the world would cost me about 1 euro (little over 1 dollar). But the weight has to be below 20 grams. For 20...
