Furcrea foefidaa survival North Florida

I aquired two pups of false agave (Furcrea foefidaa) they are nice varigated plants about 9 inches tall. Do any Floridians have experience in overwintering outside for Saint Augustine, or should I just keep them in pots and take in when frost is anticipated? Thanks in advance for input
