Re: Hana's grafting in 2016/2017
G'morning snarfie,
Yes it is.
Unfortunately 1st method, plastic straw failed all.
I have tried 2nd method.
I will continue the trial until I can get a successful result anyway.

Re: Propagation Ariocarpus fom seed
G'morning Francesca, I am also a hobby cactus collector, not a professional. I do not feed any fertilizers to seedlings. Seedlings rely on organic materials in the potting-mix and water. Light flux control should be key for the growing speed of seedlings. I use an additional shade cloth in my greenh...

A 1st filial hybrid, Turbinicarpus alonsoi x Strombocactos disciformis has formed 2 fruits. This scion is very young, just 1 year old. Seeds in these fruits should be 2nd filial hybrid, (Turbinicarpus alonsoi x Strombocactus disciformis) x Strombocactus disciformis. Fruits will crack when it was mat...

kuni I think 90F is a very nice temperature. It will reach 45 C' during Christmas time in here and so I need additional shade cloth to protect cacti. Updated photos for seedlings: These 2 pads were posted photos on Dec 04 2016. Ariocarpus seedlings are growing slowly but you can see how much they grow during last 1 year. Re: Hana's cacti
G'day Harald, The cactus you mentioned is Pelecyphora aselliformis. Although P. aselliformis is easy to germinate from seed but it is not easy to manage seedlings. Seedlings keep very thin bodies and it is hard to make a good shape. I graft seedlings and make thick bodies and degraft them after that...

Re: Hana's grafting in 2016/2017
G'morning ahmedhm I got 10 cuttings from NSW Cactus & Succulent Society in 2008. Since Peleskiopsis was not available in SA at that time, I asked NSW C&SS to send. Both states, TA and WA do not allow to bring any plants from other stats in Australia and so Peleskiopsis may not be available i...
