[Wanted] Matucana madisoniorum f. albiflora seed

Hi,

I'm looking for Matucana madisoniorum f. albiflora seed, there are a couple of nurseries who sell seed but as I don't want anything else currently and so postage and small order fee's are making it expensive :?

Many thanks in advance!

Re: larvae and flies - Harmful or harmless ?

I'd just like to mention an amazing trick I read in one of the Epiphyllum Society of America's Bulletin a few years ago and that was to crush up 1/4 - 1/2 of a mosquito dunks into a watering can leave it 24hrs give it a swish around and then use it to water your plants, it works brilliantly! I put o...

Re: Commercial grafting!

I think they root the Hylocereus stocks first, as the take rate using non-rooted specimens may be low. The stocks look fresh and young as they are normally grown inside tunnelhouses/greenhouses and given a lot of fertilizer and water. They have specialized techniques on how to use Hylocereus as sto...

Re: Disocactus flagriformis

Thanks for the info Dave, nice to see such a small cutting with a bloom. My plant was covered in mealy bug's when I found it, but it was the only one the nursery had, so I sprayed it and removed as many as I could see. I'll just have to keep an eye on it. Mines like Mealybug catnip... especially th...

No you fertilise to induce buds not while it has buds, let it bloom and then afterwards you can start to feed it a half strength fertiliser if you wish.

Re: Hylocereus, epiphyllum or something else?

I wonder just how many so called Epiphyllum hybrids on sale follow the international rules for cultivars and have been correctly published, let alone registered? I doubt many professional nurserymen realise there is an International Code for cultivated plants, let alone amateurs producing their own...

Re: Hylocereus, epiphyllum or something else?

Hello thanhnle,

GreenKnight is quite correct with the impossible task of identifying an unnamed hybrid, however your friend has a distinct advantage being in Australia as this will severely reduce the possibilities due to the very strict import laws of the country.

Re: Is mattslandscape.com still alive?

They have a physical nursery you can visit

http://www.epicacti.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

or they do trade on eBay as Minime8484 says I think his username was thousandsofblooms?

Re: Baggy method for epiphytic cacti?

Sealing unrooted cuttings of species Schlumbergera (such as S. opuntiodes) in small zip lock bags is a common way to keep moisture In and encourage rooting although I've not seen it done with other epiphytic cacti
