Re: ferocactus glaucescens as stock

Well, as i live in Alexandria Egypt, the weather is not perfect for Ariocarpus, the rotten roots is common issue, Crassulacean does not work well as the difference between day and night temperature is not high, i keep some on their root anyway but i want to make sure that i have backup :)

Hello all,
I have a lot of ferocactus glaucescens, what is your opinion about using them as stock for Ariocarpus seedlings? the seedlings between less than month old and eight months old, how about the success rate and growth rate ? thanks.

Dear all, I noticed such burns on my selinicereus specially after each time I fertilize I am using 1:1:1 fertilizer
Is it due to high Nitrogen? And if so how I should treat them to fix it? Thanks.

I usually have this insect in my cactus seeds pots, lead to destroy the roots and the seedling death, is there any recommendations to avoid it ? do you think spraying Malathion on seeds pots could help ? and do you think Malathion is safe for seedlings ??
