The leaves look identical to my furcraea selloa variegata, and they can grow a trunk. How big is that plant? It's a bit hard to tell the scale - these ones are all about 10 feet across. Please help! I have these gymnos and i don't know what they are. The first one came labelled andreae, but i'm not sure that's quite right. Any suggestions? They are actually considered a noxious weed in Australia, there are that many prickly pears growing in the wild. I have one anyway... ;)

I thought it was Echinopsis oxygona, and it matched the profile perfectly, pink flowers and all, up until last year when it flowered white. They call it a carrion flower - it belongs to the Apocynacea family - incidentally, the same family as the desert rose (Adenium), Pachypodium and Frangipani.
