Re: What other genera are confirmed to be able to hybridize with Astrophytum?

I do think Echinocatus hybrids are possible with Astrophytum. I've heard reports that Astrophytum ornatum is an ancient hybrid between Astrophytum myriostigma and an echinocatus that became self-perpetuating in the wild. I'm pretty sure Aztekium is a pretty close genetic relative of Astrophytum but ...

What other genera are confirmed to be able to hybridize with Astrophytum?

I can't seem to find a comprehensive list specifically for Astrophytum anywhere online. Astrophytum is my favorite genus of cactus and I am really interested in creating intergeneric hybrids with it.

Re: Grafting echeveria onto jade plant?

That's awesome to hear! My only jade plant is too small for me to risk it, but if I find a larger one/ wait till my current one is larger I'll probably test it out myself.

Grafting echeveria onto jade plant?

Can anyone confirm if this is possible? ^

I've seen a few videos of people grafting echeveria onto jade. It doesn't seem possible but I couldn't really find any information on the web that confirmed or denied it.

Anyone consider trying to hybridize tree aloe with haworthia or haworthiopsis

On its face, it sounds impossible due to the extreme size differences. But with the ease haworthia breeds with other genera, it makes me believe it could be possible. The thought of crossing a 60-foot aloe tree with a 3-inch haworthia just drives me wild.

Euphorbia hybrids?

I'm interested to know how easy is it to create euphorbia hybrids. Euphorbias are such a large diverse looking group yet, they are all related at the genus level. Can they all hybridize with each other?

Cacti and Haworthiopsis for trade

In search of other cacti and euphorbia. I have several of the more common euphorbia now but shoot your shot. Really want astrophytum asterias and their hybrids would consider seeds too but open to most anything cactus related. "My opuntia stricta pads are not fully mature but are old enough to ...

Interested in euphorbia hybrids

I'm interested in learning about creating hybrid euphorbias. If anyone has any knowledge on the topic please share. I'm especially interested to find out if the more leafy euphorbias can cross with any of the succulent type euphorbias. Thanks for your help

Pretty sure this cutting is Austrocylindropuntia but unsure of species

I got this cutting in the mail today and the person who gave it to me didn't know what it was. I think is an Austrocylindropuntia but not of the species I saw on Google looked quite right. Thanks

Dwarfing Rootstock?

Does anyone use a rootstock to specifically dwarf larger species of cacti? I know we usually graft to increase growth, but it would be interesting to know if some of the really large species could be kept pint-size by doing this.

Re: some experimental grafts

I wonder if this infection might also be a means of producing chimera plants. So much extreme growth might make the chances of this more likely

Re: some experimental grafts

Hello all I know this is an old thread but I'm very interested in the topic. Is this phytoplasma infection in O. subulata monstrose the same cause of monstrose in all other cacti? Also the thread talks about spreading the infection through grafting. But couldn't you just use a syringe to suck up a l...
