yellowing cacti
my tall columnar cacti started yellowing a couple weeks ago. it grows next to another greener and healthier plant of the same species and age with the same irrigation program. We've had some monsoon rains and extreme high temps but again this does'nt seem to be bothering the twin plant. any ideas?

seemed to happen overnight, my roughly three foot tall cholla is covered with a white and purplish coating, I'm assuming its scale. should I try and save it or remove to hopefully prevent spreading?

suggestions for cacti placement in garden
I forget the name of this particular cactus but I see them growing and thriving here in the Coachella Valley in Southern California. I'd like to place it about four feet from a south facing wall. Currently I have several aloes growing here with supplemental drip irrigation. Does this sound like a go...

yucca elata watering advise and help
This particular yucca elata was dug up and moved over a year ago, it struggled but bounced back this spring with new growth. Now the summer temps are in the triple digits and will continue to be so throughout summer and early fall. The plant recently began showing signs of distress with several of t...

KALANCHOE ORGYALIS PLACEMENT IN GARDEN
I have a large kalanchoe orgyalis in a pot that it would like to plant in the ground. I have a spot picked out but I'm concerned the plant will not receive enough light. Currently the location gets blasted with morning sun till about noon when the sun then dips behind some palms. That's about six ho...

ferocactus with fasciation/ cresting
beautiful ferocactus above Coachella Valley California with great example of fasciation, a type of abnormal growth pattern https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fasciation I was doing some off trail hiking and spotted it from some distance, the distinctive V shape growth really stands out. I'm guessing it i...

yucca ID
I have both these in my front yard. one looks like a chaparral yucca but I'm thinking it's probably originally from a nursery. Home is Coachella Valley California. they're both about three feet wide and high, in year round full sun.
