Re: Llifle is back on line

You made 2 statements. 1-"I have heard that there is a lot of wrong information" and 2-"(if you take the information you get there with a grain of salt)" I don't get why you even posted these statements? You have not backed any of it up. Why trash the website with out actual pro...

Re: Is Llifle now defunct?

I would think your version is a nice addition (just make sure the frame on the left shows the entire species name without the need of scrolling). Thanks for the feedback I already worked on that by reducing the indentation: https://i.imgur.com/Pyj2B9v.png Ideally I'm looking for an idea to remove t...

Re: Is Llifle now defunct?

This was my proposed migration to a newer version of Llifle before it came back, still playing with ideas and styles, but was near a final draft

Re: Is Llifle now defunct?

At this point I'm pretty sure I won't be including images as there aren't really much that I have compared to what was there (which is a shame). If Valentino provides the images he has I'd include them in the pages.

Re: Is Llifle now defunct?

Great Ellie, make sure of the pictures though since Valentino may own the copywrite to them and has therefore only given permission for Lliffe to publish them on that site. In posting a picture here I have given Cactiguide the right to use it on the forum, but I still retain the copyright. Therefor...

Re: Is Llifle now defunct?

Be careful you don't infringe copywrite Elie as you legally may need their (Cactus Art) permission to copy the work and certainly re-publish it. This quote as an example:- "When does the copyright term on an article expire? That is, the copyright term in the article will expire 70 years from t...

Re: Is Llifle now defunct?

Its sad that if Cactus Art and Llifle are owned by the same person but cactus art has a least a 3rd less of the information that was available on Llifle. And I agree Valentino has been a ghost for at least a year. Thank you ElieM for putting out the effort to save the information Cactus-art is real...

Re: Is Llifle now defunct?

I'm working to port Llifle into a new website, with a modern styling and restore it online. Keep in mind this is not official work and I'm not affiliated with them.

Re: Systemic for Mealybugs Product Name (UK/Ireland)

As Teo says if it works the EU will ban it! The Americans still have chemicals available banned in the EU. Scroll down to "pesticide Control" in this link:- https://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/profile?PID=201 Also see:- https://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/pdfs/pesticides-for-home-gardeners.pdf Thank ...

Re: Systemic for Mealybugs Product Name (UK/Ireland)

I think most of the (chemical) systemic insecticides (especially those containing imidacloprid) has been banned (or at least restricted to professional use) in the EU now. There are some to be used as sprays I think. I need to deal with Mealies at root level, what to do if not systemic? Sprays won'...

Systemic for Mealybugs Product Name (UK/Ireland)

Hello, I have used the search tool but the results are either outdated or not product specific. I need my fellow cactus collectors from the UK/Ireland (Maybe Europe) to let me know which specific systemic insecticide they use for Mealy bugs. What I need is a specific product name that I can simply s...

Re: Are these both Polaskia chichipe?

Little one is Stenocereus, probably griseus. (Slightly etiolated) Big one is definitely Polaskia Allow me to ask you, how is the big one etiolated, even slightly? I don't see any kind of etiolation there, I'm curious to know Thanks for the IDs, people seem to be really torn about the Polaskia Chich...

Melocactus azureus - Any hope?

Roots came off as shown in the pic below. Is there any hope for this one to grow the roots back? Will cornstarch help?
