Hey Traveller would it be possible to get some pereskiopsis off of you if you have excess? Can’t find it here.

Re: Poot’s Cactus Nursery- Ripon,CA

Love the big cactus to the back and right of the first pic! What species was it? It embodies everything about cacti I love.

Edit: is it some species of Echinopsis?

Re: Who has the oldest cactus?

I’ve got a Ferocactus wislizoni that’s about 20.

Started some P. Pringlei and Saguaro from seed in 2018.. so the long wait continues. They’ve been slow growing here, the Saguaro would be luck to be 1/2” and the Pringlei’s are about 1-1 1/4” (tall).

Re: Seeding Journal

What conditions do you start these in? My haageocereus pseudomelanostele seedlings are 2 months old and still a few millimetres wide. My stenocereus, melocactus, and other genre are growing quite a bit faster than my haageos. Don’t worry - I look at these threads and everyone’s plants are always he...

I have a ferocactus hamatacanthus, too much sun just made it red. Shade made them darken up to green again.

j4nd3r53n wrote: Mon May 25, 2020 8:37 am Thank you! I looked in wikipedia, and apparently it is now called Disocactus. I mostly grow orchids, and I find you have to run to keep up with the name changes - is it the same with cacti?
Absolutely is. A pain in the backside lol
