Re: Peat

Knowing your location would be helpful.
It depends on your weather (temperatures and humidity) and the plants you are growing. I use heaps of peat in my environment with no problems. For example, columnars get up to 50% peat, mammillarias around 20-30% and rebutias even less

Re: Photos from my greenhouse

Great cactus collection, Elie! You seem to have about all shapes and sizes covered and more than one of each genus and species. :) How many plants do you already have in your private cactus garden center? I do like those Gymnocalycium baldianum hybrids. Did you cross-pollinate them or is someone se...

Re: Parodia Hybrids?

In my experience they hybridize very easily (specially the eriocactus part of the genus). I donate most of the seeds i get so i don't het much followup on what came up. A good portion of the plants we buy commercially, specially from Holland, are hybrids to some extent. I see no problem with propaga...

Re: Photos from my greenhouse

Thank you keith! Some plants flowering for the first time. The pilosocereus surprised me as it's only around 4-5 years old. As for the echinopsis, these are said to be very hard to flower because they are the highly offsetting form. Well i have 4 of them flowering. 1587290930889_IMG_3162-768x1024.jp...
