Never tried it on cactus, but it caused some distorted growth on the plants I tried it on. It was over 40 years ago, so I don't remember what I used it on. I've seen it advertised to make cactus offset, recently.

I don't think he is. Whenever I've spoken to him he refers to cactiguide as the past. Didn't ask why.

I can only offer my own experience. I have two P. strobiliformis that flowered at the same time this summer. I pollinated by hand and never got anything that looked like fruit. Two of my A. fissuratus made a liar of me today. They go from felt to flower in no time.

A few of my arios are making felt. I don't expect flowers for a month. It's still over 100 during the day but got down to 68 this AM.

Flowers from the plant apex definitively rule out Mammillaria.

"Regular" M. pringlii have golden spines. I've never seen one this pale. I'd buy one if I'm saw one. Nice plant!

Nice plant! I think the flowers are too big and the spines too sparse for M, grahamii. You can sefinit3ly eliminate that.

They are very frost tender. I lost my first batch years ago to cold. The Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix now has a LOT of them in the ground.
