i was thinking of getting one of these a while ago but i got distracted (by other cacti lol) are they easy to grow? (says the guy who just bought a Uebelmannia pectinifera :lol:)?

well, they are extremely rare here and its tiny and it cost me a small fortune and at least you have some warmer weather coming up, cool weather for me :lol:

I want one :x Haha i think any cactus collector/grower should have a Saguaro, just because its the "icon" of every cactus. Im gonna have to find myself one.

Uebelmannias do look great michael. they are very rare and hard to come by here. i pounced on mine for its ridiculously low price (i.e under $20, but it is a small seedling). they also have a reputation for being quite hard to grow, temperamental and because they come from tropical areas of Brazil they are supposedly very cold-intolerant. :?

I read that in winter, they are ment to be kept warm otherwise they rot.

hmm, it seems that everyone i talk to about Ubies has had similar experiences. anyone had any success with them?
