Cholla bombs

Post by tumamoc »

This forum doesn't see much action, so I thought I'd contribute. I have been known from time to time to place a teddy-bear cholla bud into the business end of a gasoline-powered leaf blower. It's quite amusing to see it fly away. That would make a great game of chicken, may they should try that on Jackass.

A lot less complicated than our old "Spud Gun" made from PVC pipe using potatoes, a volatile gas and a cigarette lighter. Used only with several of your favorite brews.

I can tell you that I've yet to get stuck with any cactus that is more painful than C. biglovii. Having one hit me at high speed -I could not even imagine!

I've gotten used to opuntiod spines but I must admit the cuddly embrace of a Teddy Bear is not pleasent even at slow speed.
