Steve,

This is the fertilizer I told my daughter to get. But, she got hers from Waldor Orchids via Amazon. The price is much cheaper through them, but I was not happy with the granules and dust in the same bag. Too hard to get a representative mix when scooping it out. I ground hers to a uniform powder, but it absorbs humidity very rapidly and liquifies. (like Miracle-Gro) Still usable, but hard to know how much you are using. I intend to dissolve the bags of mine and make a stock solution.

Notice the derived from statement. No mention of any phosphorous compounds. Yet the analysis shows phosphorous is there. Incomplete information. Trade secret?
Solj3 -- I'll defer to Jerry on his thoughts and recommendations for the fertilizer you should use. As I said in a previous post, I only grow desert cacti, so his experience growing Christmas cacti will be more helpful to you than what I can offer here.

Solj3. The 13-3-15 from Orchid Nerd via Waldor Orchids is the exact stuff Steve posted, but much cheaper. I bought three bags via Amazon to get free shipping since I don't have a Prime account. If you buy direct from Waldor Orchids, there is a $9.00 shipping fee.

Just mix it up before scooping it out. Maybe even put it into a storage container to allow mixing better. If you have any desiccant packages, you could put them in it and slow down the absorption of water. I intend to mix mine into DI water and use it like a liquid fertilizer. I have not calculated how I'm going to do it yet.

Hi everyone, I wanted to give an update. My Thanksgiving cactus is doing well. I have been using the slow release orchid fertilizer. It's been about a month now...I'm happy with how things are going. I started seeing flower buds. :D i can't wait for them to bloom. Thank you everyone. I'll post when the flowers bloom!
