Amistad Reservoir National Recreation Area

Post by Dagave »

Amistad Reservoir forms on the U.S. /Mexico border from a dammed section of the Rio Grande River just west of Del Rio. The Devils River, Pecos River, and several creeks also feed directly into the reservoir.

Beautiful. Was there a shaded place where you could lie down and take a rest? Or is this not permitted?

Good shots of what was once called Escobaria bella, but is just a western form of what I still call Escobaria runyonii (for various reasons).

Thanks. Sorry, I remember you mentioning that. I had it documented it as Escobaria emskoetteriana from another source. I’ll revise it based on the fact your information is always accurate.

Thx for your confidence in my (somewhat radical) naming preferences. I wouldn't go so far as to think I'm always accurate, and I usually don't use the most current (in vogue) naming conventions, but to misquote Shakespeare "A rose by any other name ....
