More rock photos...

My late teens and all of the my twenties were spent rock and mountain climbing
so I developed a special love for the rock
Many a hike through untrampled wilderness led to mineral out crops
I collected mostly quartz, garnets and epidote

I also collected large slabs of granite for around the house

Me and Denise have collected over 1000 lbs of petrified wood over the last 20 years
all in legal collecting areas of course
You have to get lucky to find it these days, but we still have our secret spots that are we can pick up another half truck load

We collect small chunks mostly, and Denise puts in boxes and sells them at our Cactus sales as staging rocks, they also look fantastic in a bowl
Of course we pick up big pieces if found
It's some of the best rock hounding ever, you just walk around and pick it up off the ground, just sitting there on top of the dirt, all clean and shiny like
and then you put it in your bucket, then walk another 10 and pick up another piece
No digging
