Mammillaria

Post by Shane »

I bought this Mammillaria in the LA flower district back in early March. It had small buds on it at the time which finally opened last week into large flowers

I was thinking it could be M. grahamii or M. schumannii but I don't think either is right

Thanks both of you. It does look like M. boolii. I got it for $1 and assumed it was something common but clearly not

Nice plant! I think the flowers are too big and the spines too sparse for M, grahamii. You can sefinit3ly eliminate that.
Disclaimer: I'm in sunny Arizona, so any advice I give may not apply in your circumstances.
