Post by Seymour Tropicals »

I need help identifying the following cactus. Click on the links to see the pictures

I have no idea what these first two are.

Could the second cactus be a Cereus peruvianus monstrosus?
I know this last picture is a member of the Opuntia family, but there are so many I couldn't make a positive ID.

Any help is appreciated.

Hi there,

The second picture is almost certainly Cereus Peruvianus. The first picture looks like a Notocactus to me, but which one I would be guessing. The third is a very nice specimen, but again it would be guessing to say which Opuntia it was.

That first one looks like it might be a variety of Mammillaria karwinskiana. We need to get a Mam. expert to join our forum here. There are so many and it really takes a trained eye to tell them apart sometimes. Opuntia's too for that matter.
