Are these Euphorbia obesa seed pods?

I pollinated the female cyathia about 2 weeks ago.

If these are seed pods, how long until they start exploding? I want to collect the seeds before that happens.

Yes, they are seed pods.
They don't take long to become ripe. Just a few weeks at most, I believe. If I were you, I would already put some tape around the pods so when the capsules desintegrates, the tape will hold the pieces together and keep the seeds inside. You can then just take off the entire capsules that are ripe, and peel out the seeds at your own leisure. There could be up to 3 seeds per capsule.

Are the seeds big enough to see if they fall onto the dirt? I currently have a mesh bag but I may put down tape instead. How far do the seeds usually fly?

They can fly for meters. You setup seems to land them right in the soil, if you want that.
The seeds are big enough to see. LIght brown and round. But if might be harder to spot in between little rocks.

My primary concern would be that there's not enough airflow like there would be with the green mesh bag. Do you think that will be a problem?

I have had this little plant for years but I have never tried to collect seed so I appreciate your help.

It's easier to just use some sticky tape to hold the capsule together once it desintegrates.

Do you have a picture of how you're talking about?
