Cactus-aventures.com

Post by Spikylover »

Hello everyone
I've been looking for seeds lately and i have found cactus-aventures.com to be interesting and a little cheaper. It also offers genus mixes when you can't decide on species (like lobivia-they are all pretty).
If you or someone you know have tried it, do you have any comments on quality and credibility?

Regards

Rachel.

As I told you Rachel I have never bought from them myself, but just looked on the BCSS Forum and found this:-

How true it is I do not know since you always get less than optimum germination from all dealers some years. Also unless you are a lover of hybrids, hybrid seed usually germinates better than true species and I am not always sure all dealers take enough precautions against open pollination. Certainly not many amateur collectors harvesting seed off their own plants in mixed collections and passing them off as the same as the female parent. Cheapest is not always best, since many dealers stock Lobivia seed.

Thanks a lot Dave. That's really helpful!
I did a little research too and it seems negative reviews go to 2012-2014 and then every mention of the site (wether positive or negative) disappears after 2014

Found these who do mixtures of Lobivia etc Rachel, but don't know anything about them. Maybe somebody does?

I read that they are having very poor germination and they're too expensive compared to others. I think i'm gonna try succseed. Everyone says they're great
Thanks Dave
