I have been asked to identify these two from pictures. I think I have seen both types in this forum but I can't remember their names now.

First one might be an Echinocactus grusonii v. inermis.

I thought of that too and looked at images but I didn't think that they really matched. But after a second look I agree that it is a (strong?) possibility. I guess that they undergo rather big changes when growing from seed to adult plants.

Second one looks like a Pilosocereus v. gounellei

P. gounellei seems reasonable, it certainly is common enough!
