1) When pollinating a cactus that's self-fertile, how do you prevent it from pollinating itself before/after you pollinate it from another plant?

2) When cross-pollinating two species in the hopes of creating a hybrid, if you pollinate both plants from each other (and they both produce seeds), will the new plants from both parent plants turn out the same?

1) Why would you want to do that? The only way would be to move it to a location where pollenating insect could not get to it.

2) The two sets of seeds will be different to each other, sometimes very different.

You should cut petals and stamens off before the flower opening.
A style with stigma will be only remained. The stigma does not open at that time.
Wait until the stigma opens and pollinate by pollen of another species.
