Best timing for transplanting cacti in zone 4
Best timing for transplanting cacti in zone 4
Hi - have a number of Minnesota / Zone 4 hardy cactus that have been doing well...mostly hen and chicks and a variety of Optunia that I leave in the ground all year long. I am thinking of transplanting them to a different area with more sun. Any recommendations as to the best time of year to transplant cactus? Fall, wait to spring or does it not matter?

Better they have a chance to get well established in their new location before they face the rigors of Winter. I'd wait til Spring.

I usually do my transplanting during the spring or early summer.
