Just curious ... what is the most rare (hard to find) and/or unusual cactus or succulent in your collection :?:

There is one another but i have not taken a photo of it.
When thousands of foes unite, for my ruins plot–
If only You remain by my side, I then fear not!
I live for a hoped union with thee, it is my desired prize–
Or all my moments are spent- in the fright of demise!

I don't think I have anything rare in my garden either. Most visitors comment that my Pereskia is the most un-cactus like thing they can imagine.

This plant (not mine) provided the seed...

I think this is Pereskia aculeata, but I'm not sure about that. Those spines are painfully sharp.

I have a tiny cristate cereus with a bad case of the mealy's
Buying a cactus a day will keep the madness away.

Copiapoa solaris is fairly uncommon, although most dedicated Copiapoa growers will get hold of one sooner or later. This is just a baby. Multi-headed ones are very rare in cultivation and they never rival the habitat plants the size of a small car.

This one is perhaps even rare, although perhaps not as sought after. Eriosyce umadeave. Sorry, don't seem to have a recent photo, but here's a trayful of seedlings, possibly more than in the entire rest of England. Another plant that is majestic in habitat, but less so in cultivation.

I just thought of this one. Again superb in habitat, but can look great in cultivation too if you can keep it alive. Echinocactus polycephalus.

This S.opuntioides is what I think is the rarest in my little collection, grown really well this summer hope they survive the winter... Have two on its own roots and one grafted. :-)
