"Domestic Cacti" -Contest No. 11b (Submissions Onl

Post by daiv »

OK this is part "B" of our Cactus Picture Contest Double feature! -Contestants may enter on or the other or both!

The topic is "Domestic Cacti" with a focus on CactiForum member's own potted cacti.

Important Rule: The subject should be one of your own plants, not a photo of one taken at a show or nursery.

Again, the focus is on a single plant. We will eventually do a Cactus Collection contest were we can submit our best overview shot of at least part of our entire collections.

Post all your pictures for "Domestic Cacti" -Contest Number 11b in this thread.

Contest will run from September 3 through September 17

You have Until September 10, 2006 to enter a picture in the contest.

Voting will be from September 11 to September 17

Please review this post for the contest rules: http://www.cactiguide.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=888

Lets see your best pot shot!

I am going to do something different here too and post an Epiphytic type for this contest. Here is Selenicereus chrysocardium. It has stems reaching over 6 feet, but has never bloomed yet.

This one was hard, but I think this is probably my favorite cactus and it gave me flowers this season. Mammillaria theresae, beautiful even when not in flower.

Yay, my first picture contest entry. :D I was trying to figure out what picture I wanted to do. No matter how many pictures I looked at, I kept going back to this picture. It's one of my favorite.

I'm still a bit confused about the topic so here is my interpretation of a "domestic specimen". It's not in a pot, but is a specimen and, flowering!!

This is the official entry, a twilight view taken Tues night, showing the sky effects of the storms off our south western coast.

Not the offical entry but, a sunlit side view of the same plant. -- Neobuxbaumia polylopha.
