Need an ID on this Aloe please. Any guesses to species or cultivar? I'm horrible at Aloes.

To me it looks like a very pretty A. striata hybrid.

Perhaps a cross between A. striata and A. maculata?
Nothing smells as sweet as a frangipani flower...

I am pretty much a beginner at succulents and that one you could easily sell it to me as an agave of some sort.

With very few exceptions, agaves always have a central cone in the middle from which the leaves peel off, whereas aloe leaves come out of the center of the rosette one at a time and slowly grow. That's probably the easiest way to tell! Aloes have gel-filled leaves while agaves have stringy woody leaves, but that can be difficult to tell from just a picture.

Aloes lack terminal spines as well. ( a few but its very few of the Agave lack them as well, but in general if you see a terminal spine it is an Agave.)
Here's to you, all you insidious creatures of green..er I mean cacti.
