Love me a night show

Post by dustin0352 »

Some of you might remember this plants minimal but very pretty showing last year. Well this year has totally impressed the heck outta me! These buds/blooms came out of no where, and put on a great show for me. Plus the fragrance is outta this world!! very sweet and can be smelled past 15ft away.

Oh and these photos also include a "Find me if you can"

wow, those are amazing. so many blossoms at once really makes it a fantastic show, and i agree the aroma must really be strong.

You can barely see the plant!

What do you all think? Is it better to have all blooms open at once for a grand show or to have only a couple open over a long period of time?

PS. For the "Find me" - I see Dustin Toes in two of the pics!

Thanks everyone!

Daiv, I think a grand show is perfect for this type of cactus, one night of bloom then they are spent. but for a cactus which its blooms last a few day I'd rather a few at a time.

As for the aroma of this show, wow! as soon as the sun came up the bee's and other bugs swarmed them. I hope the bees did some good, cause this leads to the "find me if you can"

Wait what???!!!! I truely thought this was all the same plant! Imagine my surprise when I seen 2 red blooms! I never even noticed red buds as I was just taken by how many white buds were popin out. So hopefully the bee's did their work (incase they missed some I tickled em all).

we couldnt see the red buds they were below the thick white flowers that were hiding the plant! :D hahaha

BTW cool that you have some red flowers too, maybe it will make some cool hybrids! :)
Here's to you, all you insidious creatures of green..er I mean cacti.
