Greetings from the Grampians (Scotland)

Post by SingleMalt »

Hi all Cactus nuts,
Just joined, so many greetings and all that.
Believe it not the sun does shine in my part of the world (ok, sometimes), so it's possible to grow stuff.
I really like:

Cacti > Discocactus (probably my all time favs.)
Mammillaria (very pretty)
Gymnocalycium (dark bodied stunners)

Succulents > Haworthia (some real gems)
Gasterias (great leaves AND flowers)
Lithops (nice to stroke)
Conophytums (dainty marvels)

And....caudiciforms.
....Pelargoniums (winter species)

Been keeping them for about 3 years but still learning, and some I still find tricky like my favourites Discocactus.
I keep everything indoors, in a sunny porch and by sunny windows.
Best wishes
Iain

Welcome! I believe you about what you can grow up there! I was lucky enough to visit Inverewe Garden last year and was amazed at what was growing!

Hi Iain

Welcome to the forums. Can't wait to see the pictures of your cacti and succulent collection.

Well, let's start with a Conophytum:

Welcome from me too - hope you feel right at home here!
All Cacti are succulents, but not all succulents are Cacti
