Birds!
Re: Birds!
Very handsome bird!
It’s not the fall that kills you; it’s the sudden stop at the end.

Re: Birds!
Here's a couple I took in the lake district while kayaking, unfortunately I didn't see much more than ducks and swans!
Re: Birds!
4 taken during a walk along the local river earlier on in the week, if the weather is good me and the wife generally try to head out for a walk once a week and I tend to drag along the camera and some lenses. Click the images for larger resolution.
Wish I could of got closer for this one but as I headed off the path and into some longer grass something with a tan brown tail, all that I saw of it, took off no more than 2 feet away from me. I quickly un-assed from the area knowing I'm in Eastern Brown territory!

Re: Birds!
Few more photos taken at a local wildlife park yesterday, combination of a long lens and short distances made for some very up close head shots.
Unfortunately I didn't take the time to note down what species they were so I can only name a few.

Beautiful photos! Our daughter is in Australia, so much natural beauty. You're all very fortunate. although one can always find beauty wherever one happens to live You just have to open your eyes.

Re: Birds!
I remember years ago in England there was a children's programme on tv in which they had two koalas called Tinger and Tucker (don't know if that is how you spell it ) and Katie Kookaburra (which I always pronounced as Kookleburra ) Never too old to learn Nice pics.

Here's a couple of Kittiwakes from boxing day down in Littlehampton, I think we were trying to walk off all the christmas food
Re: Birds!
Some from a holiday down the coast that unfortunately ended on Monday. Still getting used to the new camera but it's performing above and beyond what I could ever of expected, especially as I mainly run lenses that are near 30 years old by now.

Re: Birds!
Here's a blue tit that looks like it's adding the final touches to the nest, should be eggs in there soon! The picture was in focus when I took it, I think the resizing affects it quite badly, there's a good version on my 500px page though
