OK, I've got lots of pics to share, but I'll start with some birds:

Bald Eagle Feather - it is actually illegal to pick up a feather like this that is found on the ground:

Gotta love the birds! I have a bajillion bird pictures and never get tired of looking at them, and remembering the trips or birding outings we took to get them.

Would you mind if I post a few?

Daiv,
when I was in Minnesota I saw a few bald eagles.

Also in Wisconsin and Montana.
:)

I like pictures of birds as well. I dont have too many, most of mine suck because the birds are too far away or hidden, or I hear them but can't see them!

Taking pictures of quail is hard too! they are fast and jumpy!

funny,
all the shots I take of birds turn out as blobs, that are blurry and you can't tell what they are. Great pics from both of you!

Harriet,
your picture of the native Hawaiian Nene goose reminded me of some of these birds that were occupants of the Gladys Porter Zoo in Brownsville, Texas. They were very curious animals and came to the edge of the cage and nibbled on my fingers when I stuck them into their enclosure.
One time I had the bad idea and held my finger near a domestic goose. That one too got hold of it, but in the process pulled some skin off. It was a bigger bird and I was not aware of the fact, that they do have some kind of almost rasp like lining of the beak.
Of course, I do like Nene geese better!

The Nene in the picture was one of a pair, they were such "laid back" birds that I was not suprised that they are endangered. I would like to go back to Hawaii just to go birding, I did not get to see some of the species I had hoped to see.

Nice photos
I have been a birder for 35 years, and love them all
Seen almost every (90%) North American Bird in the wild over the years

Harriet, your Albatross is a Frigratebird, with the twin tail and bent wings

I just saw some, along with Nene, and lots of albatross' in Kauai last week, they are all so marvelous
