beautiful turbs!
that myrtillocalicium is crazy, I would have never expected those species to cross-pollinate

They didn't cross pollinate.

I think it was due to a graft where the genes of the two plants merged and started growing as one.

EDIT:

" It is thought to be a graft-chimaeras between Mytillocactus cochal and Gymnocalycium mihanovichii cv. RED HIBOTAN. Its generic name + Myrtilloclycium comes from those of its parents ("Mytillocactus" and "Gymnocalycium") A graft-chimaeras can be given their own genus name (which is a combination of the two constituent generic names) preceded by a + sign."

M. madisoniorum always delivers. That species should be a requirement for all growers, I think. :)

I have no Matucana in my collection. After seeing these blooms (and others) I think that is a problem that may soon be resolved.

Chimeras are created when the 2 plant's cells combine, and grow as one.

There is no gene combining, as in a hybrid.

I have a couple, and the plant will grow sections were one plant dominates, and the other part has little influence.

You could cut off those sections, like a reverted crest.

Great stuff! Miles grows some incredible stuff. You bought several that require the patience of a saint. Beautiful, though!

I'm a patient guy.

Plus I'm young, so if I got them at any point, better to start now :p

Turbs definitely put out some nice flowers!

I saved some pollen from the T. klinkerianus and tried pollinating the T. lophophoroides, anybody have luck with this combo?
