I starting of by showing you one image of my Copiapoa that I grafted Sep 20, 2009...

And yes, there is a mystery in this, but what? :)

Is there a grafting stock under the top-dressing?

I will not answer that yet, but one thing I can add is that I use Selenicereus grandiflorus as a grafting stock and I truly don't know if you can permanently bury that kind of stock :dontknow: Anyone that know if you can? I do know that it's possible with some Opuntia stocks :)

OK, I will come back to the first image later, maybe, and show with some pictures what I've done :)

As I have told befor; I grow all my plants on my windowsill. But I have a lot of plants so I made a shelf :)

This is how it looks like, well, one of my windows...
Image
(Yes, I know. I need to clean my windows  )

It's about -5C outside and still a lot of snow, but the snow do reflect lights well so it's good for my plants. When it gets dark outside I turn on the light, and If I'm at home I pull down the blinds so I don't get the light in my eyes. Under the lights it's about +24C, so it's nice for the plants :)

Nice setup, Christer!

I've made a lot of grafts on Selenicereus (more than 2500) for over 3 years and I have still a few of the oldest grafts, but most of them I had to degraft for rooting, or regraft on harder stocks.
Soon I'll put a dedicated post about these..

Best regards
Alex

It's always nice to hear from you :)

2500, that's a lot  Still have some grafts to make before I'm up to that amount, I guess. But first I need a green house

I looking forward to the post about your grafts!! I hope there will be some nice pictures ;)

I've been taken some close-up pictures for a while and I really like it :) One of my primary reason for growing cacti (and some other plats) is that I want to take nice pictures of them. So I try to do that.

This is how it looks like when I take pictures with a black background...
Image

I use both Nikon D70s and Canaon EOS 400D when I take my pictures. In the picture above I use a Canon EF-S 17-85/4-5,6 IS USM lens and I really like that one when I'm out and travel :)

The model in this scene is a Discocactus zenthneri ssp. araneispinus grafted Oct 02, 2009.

I've been thinking for a long time to start taking some real 1:1 macros, but for that I need another lens. Time will tell if I ever get one ;)

Nice to see your setup Christer. Again, it looks like it could be Minnesota beyond that window.

Trying to figure out what the glowing blue thing is on the table. :-k

Thanks Daiv :)

Well, we may have the same climate over here, but it's unusual amount of snow this winter.

The blue glowing thing is a mist fountain that helps to keep up the humidity in the room. It's very dry air this time of the year. Good for cacti but bad for humans

British humidifier design hasn't quite caught up with Sweden yet. All the ones I see are ugly boxes.

Well, I guess the one I've found isn't a real humidifier, but I use it like one ;)

Some spiny cacti.

Any guess what it is? :)
