Loving that Pedio! Hope it gets crowned by a lot of those flowers at once, that's always a cool sight.

What's especially cool about Pediocactus simpsonii are the distinctly different forms from its very wide distribution. (not the named forms either, but just P. simpsonii). You can have a ton of variety just growing 12-15 different collections.

The Pediocactus here have buds on them too. About a week behind you. It's amazing how quickly they bloom in the spring.

I has out pulling weeds today. The P simpsonii looks like it will have 4 flowers tomorrow, so ill get another set of shots. They are from 9000' elev in Chaffee County Colorado. I consider it a small form, but it does offset freely. Did the one I sent you live Bill?

That plant is a wild collection from some pasture my brother bought. He was going to be pasturing 3 pack strings of mules on the land, so I figured id rescue a few plants before they were pulverized. He takes people hunting and fishing, carries ther crap on his mules, and looks for lost idiots.

The Opuntias are covered in new growth, its spectacular!

Pics tomorrow.......
