Cactus ID help

Post by procaster »

Hi all, great website..

I just found this cactus today whist working, and was hoping someone may be able to help id it. It was found near the coast in sandy conditions near Sydney Australia. I think it may be Echinopsis Pachanoi..

Also while im here, i have another small cactus in a pot with brown patches on it, it seems to spreading slowly, maybe some sort of fungus? Is there anyway to get this under control, the cactus is growing extemely slow.
Im not sure on the genus/species near of this cactus either so if somebody could id this aswell it would be much appreciated...

Cheers

I agree with Lewis. Can't put a finger on the first one. May be another Trichocereus sort or could be a Cereus.
All Cacti are succulents, but not all succulents are Cacti
