Indoor Flowers in Minnesota 2009
OK, it has been a little while since I updated this thread. Not because I haven't had any flowers, but more that it has mostly been plants that already flowered this year.
But here is a new flower for this year, P. warasii. I think this plant lost its roots in the winter as it stayed shriveled and did not grow much most of the summer, while the P. magnifica next to it, was so full of water, it split a little! Anyway, it seems happy now and here are the flowers:
My single Schick hybrid 'Spellbound' is blooming again:
Here is M. hahniana - not sure if I posted this one this year or not - will have to go back and see...
Now I finally remembered to take pictures of my two "crawling" mamms that are also pupping uncharacteristically.
Here is M. spinosissima. These guys are known for lying down, but the pupping is a bit extreme!
Here is my M. matudae that is also procumbant. These are mostly solitary, but this sort of pupping does occur on older plants from what I can see. Anyway, I'm pleased with it and will let it continue doing its thing.

Posting a couple repeat performances here. After all, I soon won't have any pics to share for several months as they will be all packed away for winter!
Here is that P. warasii with three flowers. This really turned out to be a nice plant. It came from a Lowes or Home Depot garden center probably 6 years ago or more. I had it in the ground in CA.
E. backebergii - this is another garden center plant that I've had for a long time. It is quite reliable.
Not sure if I posted this Mamm or not. I think it is a rhodantha, but didn't check on it before posting here:
This E. cinerascens really makes me happy. It was less than half this size at the start of the year and just not looking well. Apparently this was a good summer for it and it grew like mad and put out a new stem. I had this in the ground in CA too and it did flower for me. I really hope to have flowers next year:
Edit: The E. cineracens is in a 6 inch pot.
