Do they have to be in the same format as yours Hob? I think I have about three similar articles I already did like this for our Nottingham branch newsletter and could perhaps do a couple more if any use?

Yavia Cryptocarpa

A comparatively recently discovered plant. Known originally from a small area just on the Argentinean side of the border with Bolivia, in the province of Jujuy, near La Quiaca, at 3,700m, though other sites have now been found. The name cryptocarpa means “hidden fruit” as the fruit at first is deeply sunken in the crown, the plant only exerting it later.

My original grafted plant came from the British Cactus & Succulent Society Society offer a few years ago and I flowered it the second year I had it. Unfortunately after flowering and apparently setting fruit even though not having another to cross pollinate it with and fruits being empty, the scion then simply withered on the stock though the stock was still completely healthy.

The plants are small and depressed in habitat, as you can see. Unfortunately in cultivation on grafts they tend to get rather bloated, even though they may grow far quicker. I hope to put one on It’s own roots sometime and see if it will retain a more natural shape. I have now obtained a replacement thankfully and hope this one will flower like the original one below.

I am sure some of the other Brit's on here could do something similar Hob if you used the thumbscrews on them, since nobody seems to have volunteered this year and I have seen their pictures on other sites! What about all the other photographers too?

Received your PM and thinking about it Daiv. The problem may be whether after all this time and Hob's numerous posts species may be duplicated again, though of course the pictures would be slightly different. I can probably do two or three months with stuff I have on hand already, but it would be a good idea if others joined in. I know Jens has plenty of pictures. Helping writing text is no problem if needed as long as it is cacti, though preferably they would need to write their own, certainly for Other Succulents.

I certainly would be more than happy to put in a picture of a cultivated plant if needed.
