We're at about 2000ft of elevation here so were 5-8 degrees cooler than Phoenix-proper.

I braved the heat and took so pictures today. It peaked around 108. Luckily the humidity was only about 10%...

Astrophytum asterias hybrid of some sort. Made an attractive flower today.

Leuchtenbergia principis with buds! I only have one so no seeds this year.

Turbinicarpus pseudopectinatus inermis. I got this from Miles2Go at the CSSA convention. It's a little more than one inch across.

Two Turbinicarpus pseudopectinatus - also from Miles, but with spines. Both a little more than one inch across.

Awesome!
Put the Leuchty in the passenger seat while driving around. You're bound to see a Fero in bloom for some Ferobergia goodness :)

I hadn't thought of that! I don't even need to take it for a ride, I've got blooming Feros in the yard!

Sweet...

Hello Tim,
I agree, those are nice images. By the way, I believe I do have the twin of your Astrophytum asterias hybrid. They must come from the same source.

Thanks for the comments all. I really like the spines too. I have a hard time taking good pictures of them. I'll keep trying...

Hegar, I got my Astro hybrid at a silent auction put on by the local Cactus club a few years ago. Mine seems to be doing well now.

Oops, I forgot a picture...

Geohintonia mexicana. I got this about a year ago. It's just less than 1 inch across. The spines almost look like sesame seeds.
